I'll never forget i took a car to a dealers once, to maintain warranty. I complained they didnt change the air filter (car had done around 50,000 miles) but he told me it wasn't due until 70k!!! FFS I checked it myself and it was solid black gunge, no clue how the engine was running

I once wrote my initials on oil and fuel filters years ago. When I collected car was told everything changed sir. My reply was its fantastic how you've managed to write my name on the filters like the old ones. There were many apologies as I stood and watched them being changed. Never went back and have always tried to do my own ever since.[/QUOTE]

The Ford stealer in Birkenhead had a terrible reputation, they paid their mechs on how much they did in a day so a "service" was just a stamp in the book.a friend dropped his car off one morning and picked it up late in the afternoon was told that everything had been done,he commented on the driving ability of their staff as they had managed to park it precisely where he left it,when they went on the defence he pointed out the chalk marks on the wheels and the road /kerb.the car hadn't moved.:mad::mad:
 
Booo :( get some time to look at my lpg leak while it's dry and not too cold. It's not been on gas fire ages and has decided it won't switch over!!

Last i managed to get the spark plugs changed

Tomcat got one recently, iirc. Got to be nicer than syphoning it out.

I always write the mileage and date on the filter.

P38 a bit tricky as it is just the cartridge.

Same thing happened to my stepfather and then when he reached the counter he realised he'd forgotten to drop the keys off as they were still in his pocket. That was Ford in Aylesbury.

My old Merc had a modified sump to give it a drain plug. Wasn't sure if it was a factory replacement part or not, but the merc dealer I used didn't bat an eye at it.
