£200,000 ‘fender!

Its like the 150k Merc G-wagons or the Lambo or Bentley 4x4s, the last knockings of gas guzzling SUVs. I fully expect these to be a target for serious road tax hikes to pay for covid. Some estimates are 5k / yr and it will be hard to argue as it will be a "green" tax and if you have 200k for the vehicle and 5k for the insurance you must have 5 more for the tax. If I was spending 200k I would be outside the Tesla showroom in California waiting for a Cybertruck.

I've got the new Jimny (together with my 110) and Land Rover could so easily have done that with Defender, would have been a world beater.
l bet they'd have sold more than the new Defender.
lf Suzuki can do it for under £20k, surely Land Rover could have done it for under £30k

Jimny is great just a bit too small to be a serious contender.
Although off road it's pretty impressive in fact it's remarkably good
Now, if it was 25% larger.....
There was talk of Suzuki doing a five door version but it's been withdrawn from the UK completely now.
The waiting list was 18 months and if you hadn't got your name down by the end of 2018 there wasn't much hope of getting one.

It's such an advance on the old Jimny, it's like the difference between a Discovery 2 and 3.

Somebody will buy them. There seems to be a lot of money around at the moment for that kind of thing.

Every time a manufacturer brings out a new flagship "mad money" vehicle, such as the Bugatti at around £2,000,000 or a limited edition Ferrari that's not even road legal, the whole production is quickly snapped up.

Many people who buy these kind of vehicle rarely if ever actually drive them, they just go into the barn with the 15 other exotic cars.
