I'm looking for my info regarding Defender Cherry picker conversions.

Looking to buy one but they are so rare. There has to be good reasons why they ardent used?

For my own part, I have used cherry pickers, but never on a Defender. My best guess would be that, as cherry pickers are mainly used on paved surfaces, not many people have wanted to go to the extra trouble and expense of fitting them on a Land Rover. The ones I have met were mostly on Transit Flatbeds, or larger working road vehicle.

I think for maintainability and engine age a lot of them are being phased out by newer pick ups or like you say Vans.
