now there is something new.
first - started it up this morning.
eas fault and gone on full high.

right - home computer and build the office in the car and connect the software.

good idle everything. -- no faults.
unplugged - started - normal ride high. trying all setting up and down. all works.

drove 30 miles. last bit was a pothole riddled road. lol.
parked and it went up to full high.
all lights on the switch on. eas fault came short on.
the illumination in the dash on.

drove straight home, as i dont fancy waiting for hours of some lazy recovery truck driver turning u evtl.,
parked it outside the house for about 10 minutes.
started it up to drive in the property - no full ride high. all works finer again.

second.

the second time now happen.
i have a long hill down before i go home.
driving about 40 miles - stop on the roundabout then drive down hill.more on the brake, as expected it was heavy traffic.

before i be down ( about 2 miles ) car switches off and gearbox fault appears in display. while still rolling down hill.
stopt it without engine running of course.
go in park start the car. no fault message.
start and even trying going through all gears high and low. no significant feeling of problems neither any fault messages.
gearbox oil is full.

when i came home - i have the hawkeye from a friend so plugged in and checked. - no faults.

anyone can explain that please ?
both symptoms are very strange especially no fault codes for either.

Low volts.
I would check all earth straps.
Check battery is good.
Check alternator output.
Range rovers hate low voltages!

Ok. I'll check the earth points.
Batterie is good. 11.9 while standing in the morning over night.
Alternator output to the car and batterie is 13.9 to 14.0 volt.

+1, that battery is knackered.
Time for a decent one. Makes all the difference.
If you've got the RF fob parasitic drain going on it will quickly fcuk any battery you care to put on the car. So fix the drain as well as a new battery. A new battery will just last a "bit" longer.

Ah.
Means a replacement coming for free.

The batterie is 6 days old. Lol.
Just called them. They send a new one out.

No I disconnected the blue areal of the rf receiver. Stopt the drain. Checked it.
Just is a pain always going to the rear window to lock and unlock.
But for now will do till I have the spare funds ordering this second key fob solution.

Battery is knackered as others have said, I would expect to see 12.6 volts after standing for 2 days or more.
Battery Megastore MF31-1000 about £95 delivered, it's the biggest tat will fit. You might also like to Consider updating the alternator regulator to one with a 14.7 volt set point.

I have a yusasa 5000 in it at the moment. Was coming up when I checked with reference to car.

Alternator regulator ?
Is that not part of the sealed alternator unit?

That's a torch battery and pretty useless for the diesel, needs to be 110Ah 1000CCA, anl less and expect trouble. Halfrauds and others seem to quote the battery for the V8 petrol as the battery for the diesel.

Yes I know. I figured out. Lol.

I have a discount with tayna.so I see if I get a big one from them first and may cheaper as.95 quit.
If not I get the one from this megastire.
Thanks

I dont need.to watch anything by swapping it over? Like something need to be reset?

You are supposed to go through a procedure to disable the alarm, can't remember the details because I have never done, I just disconnect and reconnect, it has never caused me a problem.. Pull the negative off in a swift clean movement and replace in the same way to avoid any sparking that may cause problems.

That's how I done this one.
Yeah hopefully it works. Lol. Monday is the new one here.
And yes battery megastore.

Even with discount on tayna I pay 1.40 more . Lol

Ok.
Never done that with new batteries but yes I can put it on a charger.
They are rarely more than half charged after sitting on a warehouse shelf for days/weeks and will never get fully charged on the car unless you do a lot of long runs, so fully charging the battery before fitting will help it last longer.

You always learn something jew. Lol
Never thought about that. Lol.
I keep that in mind.

I just remembered I hav a 110ah leisure batterie in the garage. Only 6 month old.
Fully charged.

I may take that one till the other turns up.
Cant be worse as the one I have on now. Lol

Leisure batteries are not very good as starter batteries, but you could try it.
