Temperature sender adaptor.

I can't figure out why my gauge reads high so I got a digital gauge and associated sender.
The new sender is 10x1mm and I need to fit a 9/16x18tpi hole, wheres the best place to buy an adaptor?
(As an aside Anna Daptor reminded me of 'not the nine o'clock news' which in turn reminded me of the Swedish chemist deodorant sketch......still has me laughing 30 odd years later...)
Also I tried a defender gauge and that goes high as well, considering its a 2.5n/a I thought the old 90 gauge would have been ok but apparently not.
Before anybody asks the fuel gauge reads as well as they do on a series so I reckon the voltage stabilizer is ok. Can I test the stabilizer with a digital meter? I seem to remember reading somewhere they its not accurate that way but I could be wrong

Is it the original sender for the engine ?
Has the engine been changed, For upgrade?

Its a 12J in a series 3 109, its the second one I've got and the other 12J works fine in the 88 with the gauge reading as it should.....Ican't figure this one out. Got a new sender and same trouble hence I got the digital one.

2 1/4 Petrol. Both are petrol conversions to 2.5 n/a.

Have you checked the original sender part number against the 2.5?

cos that’s all I can think could be different.

Just about given up on it so looking for the adaptor to relace the whole thing.

Yes looked there and they have the sender I got and say it should read right!

Have you asked about an adaptor, was what I meant? Or a new sender for you new unit that would work and fit your engine. They seem to have loads of little bits.

Ok then......finally sorted the temperature gauge reading. Got part number PRC2505 as the sender and although it doesn't read too well on the series gauge it seems fairly accurate on a chinese digital gauge I got.
I'll post a pick of the incongruous item tomorrow.
