Fitting a Low Range Switch in Dash!!

Is half the dash out job for a switch but if you want one for originality sake I can get it out once storms have passed.

I got that top bit of the dash out without much hassle. Some say you can get feeler guages down the side of the switch and pull them but it didn't work for me.

I cannot remember how I did it but there was enough room to wriggle a screwdriver in without taking everything off. I probably took the radio out. Maybe the sides. Damn my memory is getting bad.

We're not using RRDT type of torque!

I think if you take the radio out and possibly the sides off you can access a couple of screws and if you undo those the top part can be wriggled free the tilt forward to access the tangs at the back of tge switches. Something like that.

Very difficult but maybe not impossible, if you have small hands you may be able to do it with the radio out.. It's not that hard to get the centre section with the switches out.

Just overcome your need for no blanks and leave it as it is. Or follow RAVE and remove the switch pack.

might be a dumb question, but why not use the existing low range selection, and move gear selector to the left ?

I have not got a gear selector on mine. And I don’t have a fear of blanks either. I just want to a switch for @Datatek s radiator mod.

The blanks are harder to extract than the switches because of the design of the retaining tang.

Definitely mush easier to remove the panel. Usually only takes 10 mins to do, and provides easy access to run whatever wiring you need.

Option two if you really like extra switches might be this !!
