P38A radio speakers not working

hi all 1996 late december 20th,
auto
2.5 diesel
just purchased it. Had a parrot handsfree unit fitted.
Now the radio works but even on highest volume its pretty quiet ,so i thought perhaps it was the radio parrot unit ,so i disconnected it but still very quiet. Thought perhaps it was the radio unit so swapped it for a pioneer from another rangerover which was working fine. When swapped in still the same. Swapped the original one into my other rangerover and it works fine . So im ruling out the actual radio unit.
The faulty rangerover music unit has a cd player fitted in the boot but i didnt check if it was working .It has speakers in all the doors but the speakers of both rear doors dont seem to operate at all.
The volume from the front is very very poor,quality is good but low volume .
Ive checked all the fuses and all seem ok.
Im old school and more used to a radio have two front speakers,two rear and just have wires running to them . Ive trawled the net and now they seem to use amplifiers .Am i correct that each door has an "amp" fitted to power the speakers but im not sure how to check them see old school
Any help would be appreciated

Yes in the doors called outstations.
It’s somewhere in the vast maze of end electrical section in RAVE - good luck finding it.

There’s a guy on you tube ‘work onP38’ does good vids, few on the outstations. He does few things on each vid so not sure which one. Will be one pulling door orf and rewiring for his sound system.

It would help to know what Head Unit, plus if there are definitely door amplifiers fitted ? There are essentially 4 possibilities:

• Low-Line, where door speakers are connected directly to head unit. No mid-range speakers.
• Mid-Line, same as low-line but with mid-range speakers in each door.
• High-Line, with amplifiers in each door, and head unit connects via balanced wiring.
• DSP system, where head unit controls DSP box in boot, and door speakers connect to DSP unit.

i think its the original with the motor as the code in the handbook works when the battery was changed.
says on the radio,sorry head Range Rover r-d-s 7 eon diversity it has a cassette head in it
in the boot it has a rangerover cd player with a clarion magazine in it but dont think that has power as i cant "pop" the cassette out

I’d slide the head unit out and check the wires behind.
I’ve got an aftermarket one but I’ve been told two long jigsaw blades works well, normal tuner forks don’t work, OE is silly money.

hi rangeroverdt ,checked the wires when i swapped the head for a pioneer,same result ,low volume no rear speakers. Put the original rr head into my other rr and it works ok,good and loud

Cassettes stick with lack of use, mine does, give it a gentle tap whilst pressing button often gets it to come out

I don't even use CD's any more!!
A USB key with about seven or eight albums on it. Great for a really long journey to Italy for example
