Hi All, I've just change the oil pump on my TD5 engine, as the HP valve seat had broken up. Now I can't refit the oil pump sprocket, as the chain (original), appears too short. The pump was supplied by Britpart. My question is: Has anyone else come across this issue, or at least know how to resolve it. Thanks.

Ask int TD5 section.

Perhaps they supplied you with wrong chain, there should be numbers/markings in it.

Welcome also :)
Many thanks for your replay. It's not that, I'm using the original chain and it has not been removed from the engine... Guess I'll have to refit the old pump and see if things align correctly then take it from there.

If you hold the old/new pump side by side you may see the difference. Maybe sprocket can be changed over or something
RangeRoller, Many thank for your suggestion, the good news is I've found the problem! Part of on of the old brass dowels (as fitted to the old pump), had broken off in the block. Swift attack with a drill bit and it was sorted. Now wrestling with the sump gasket installation. That is like something designed by by an engineer, with a hatred of all humanity to fit!
