Good Evening All,

Great site - new member here. Goldmine of information and good craic.

I am looking to return to off-roading but my disco 1 requires a fair bit of welding to the body. Chassis appears ok but sills, cross members, some arches etc need a bit of attention alongside footwells. Chassis and boot floor appear decent.

I have been out of the off-roading world for about ten years now so lost all old contacts.Forums back then were no where near as full of good content as this one. Totally appreciate the skill and big difference between welding a landrover and welding new metal :)

I wondered if anyone new of anyone that quotes and welds in central Scotland? Or someone competent and experienced that would do for a fee? In no rush for the car so would be happy for someone to do it at their leisure.

All the best,
A

Hello and welcome.

Bit too far for me to pop over after mine is done but I got a build thread of how not to do it :rolleyes:

https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/project-rusty.272146/

In a nut shell it's 40+ pages of drivvel from me and the fellas on how not to do it right the first time but getting it right eventually.

Hi and welcome to landyzone:)
have you considered buying a mig and having ago, there are lots of rebuild threads on here to help you.
Hi,
Thanks for response. I have tried welding on new metals and I was bad enough at that. The art of welding Landrover’s is beyond my ability :(
