Wiring conundrum (well it is for me!)

About to fit Trucklite headlamps onto my defender. Happy enough about doing it, but the lamp unit has two wires that can be spliced into the wiring with my sidelights! As per the picture, the black wire is marked ‘PWR’ and the purple wire is marked ‘GND’. When splicing with the side lights the purple wire should be linked to the negative wire, but since that is a black wire, the feeling of doubt has started to make me question this! Any help out there?

Wonder if this is any help , ref the harness pic

As the sidelight harness, black is positive and purple ground

Of course can easily check with a multimeter once u have the headlights powered up to double check the black and purple wires
