my wife has a Range Rover Evoque. I know it’s not a proper car like the ones on here but I wonder if anyone would be kind enough to help. I am looking for a bolt kit for a Land Rover towbar I already have. But I can’t seem to source one anywhere. I spoke to Land Rover and they told me they don’t sell them separately which sounds very odd to me. Can anyone give me any advice. Apart from to get my wife a decent Land Rover.

Welcome

Umm

Either buy the kit at an extortionate price or buy a bolt.. ;)

What does this "kit" contain?

anything special?

You've probably left yourself open to a bit of abuse there but before that happens if I were you I'd have a look at the bolt holes and go to a hardware store ,and buy the biggest bolts that will fit through the holes.

Thanks. Too the points made already. Not just an off the shelf bolt. Spoke to a fitter and he said 3 of the bolts are not available through normal channels. Maybe he has got it wrong but doubt it as it’s his job. He said he was happy to fit it if I can get the bolts.

I can see two solutions. One is to get under the car with the bits you've got and a digital caliper to measure what it is you need. It'll be metric, so to the nearest mm on the diameters. Then order high tensile steel bolts from any one of the possible suppliers. Or, buy a complete kit, measure and photograph what's in there and then take it back because you've changed your mind. Show us the pics and we'll tell you where to get them.

They'll need to be decent high tensile ones so they don't shear the first time you hitch up
Of course. I would assume you could easily find HT flanged bolts suitable for the job from any decent hardware supplier?
Just couldn't work out why these bolts where so specialised.

One of the best supplier of bolts and nuts is Caterpillar.
I have over the years always recommended going to your nearest Caterpillar dealer for bolts and nuts,
Usually with a lifetime guarantee. Well worth the extra shillings.
