I'm thinking map sensor but I'm open to surgestions, clean ones @holiday chicken. starts fine but if you give it a right foot full it will rev to 3k then it's as if a rev limiter kicks in and the power drops to nothing. If you lift off then power is regained .Ta, 30 years on and still no justice for the 96, where has the time gone, must seem a lot longer for the families.Sad times, sorry to be morbid

Turbo pipes delaminated internally?
Don't know why it's double posting, bad day today, thinking about a friend ,now past away who lived for years with the guilt of Hilllsborough. He survived but had the bruise of a girl's face on his chest for weeks after the event, he couldn't get over the thought of being involved with her death l don't think he ever got over it.

Assuming this is a P38, does it have EGR? If it does, and it's not already blanked, pull the vacuum pipe off the actuator at the manifold, block the tube with an M5 screw. An electrically duff MAP sensor will give you a problem, but if the car has a MAF, try unplugging it. A duff MAF can restrict performance. If the MAF is faulty, unplugging it will immediately show a difference.
