Locking wheel nut tool- crap quality

Bought some locking wheel nuts for the wheels and tried to remove one the other day and the pins on the tool bent. Only took the old wheel off and put these on so the tools has been used 10 times. they were £32 when I bought them (with the nuts) so not cheap. Contacted the original supplier who isn't bothered so I either need a new tool or have to buy a new set. If I have a new set the locking nuts will have costs me more than the wheels did???? Does anyone have a spare tool or suggestions, same as these:

I was thinking of getting these as the offer a supposed lifetime guarantee.
They were originally bought as I had Disco 1 steel wheels but the ones listed for Disco 1 don;t seem to list series as a fitment. Its a '74 S3. Now has 7x16's with new Avon Rangemasters.

I would chase the supplier again. I had this style fitted to my 110 for years. I bought them second hand at one of the auto jumbles, and used them for years without damaging the tool. Therefore it must be poor manufacturing or poor quality materials rather than the design.

I have chased them a couple of times. Just poor quality - the pins are a different colour to the tool which doesn't seem to be the case on the ones I can now find. Will send a picture this time so they can see how poor it is.

I use this design on my trailer, don't have any on the Series, but would get some if I fit new tyres. I don't think this type is very secure, a universal socket would undo them, but that's not a bad thing if you loose the tool. More deterant than prevention.

Can you cut off a bit off the bent pins, they might be less prone to bending , then to keep them in when loosening I would use a jack Off a wall to keep it in place, if the pins are totally gone then redrill and fit stronger steel

They are conical - Had Disco 1 steels on when I bought it but now got LWB 7x16 wheels with tubes. Got the locking nuts from RST but they only do Bearmach ones now which I assume are better quality and about £13 more than I paid.
