Hi folks I am in need of a bulkhead repair service,
Anyone know of a reputable place in the south?
I am in Poole Dorset.

cheers Peter

A replacement galvanised bulkhead from can be bought from Ashtree Land Rover. That's what I decided to do with mine to hopefully last my lifetime.

Could also try
http://classicbulkheads.com/Contacts.html

Used them for mine as they are local to me and was very happy with the results. I'm curently saving the pennys in the hope of eventually being able to afford to give them the one out of the 110 as well.
Hi dag, How long ago did you have your work done? How long did it take them?
I looked on Facebook and they had received some complaints etc (i know you cannot keep everyone happy)
I have emailed Ashtree again last week, still no answer.. I may try Classic.
cheers Peter

Was probably about 2 years ago they did my series bulkhead. I knew that they could only refurb a bulkhead given to them so bought a spare for them to refurb so my vehicle was not off the road. It took them about three months which is a long time but seems to be about the going rate. After the research I did every company had complaints about it taking longer than first quoted. So from the beginning I was expecting it to take several months rather than a few weeks. I was also in no rush as mine was a rolling restoration and I could still use the vehicle while they had the bulkhead. At the time they were one of the cheapest with decent reviews as to the quality of the work, and were very local to me, these were the deciding factors, turn around time was not relevant for me.

Thaks for that. A difficult decision to make when it concerns lots of money. Like buying a house.
I will make enquiries around .
cheers Peter

The other option is to order every conceivable repair section and take the lot to a local fabricatiors, it should be cheaper, quicker and could be a decent job.

If you do that you will also need the fabricators to make you a bracing frame so that when you take it be galvnaised the heat will not warp it to the point it no longer fits the chassis.
