Thanks wammers, I'll remember that when next at the petrol station.
Having matching tyres made a big difference to the "feel", but now have to make sure it's at std height before moving off, as it sounds like a slight rub on the wing liners when turning. A bit of persuasion with the heat gun, if it persists!

That's because your tyres are to large you probably won't get the spare in the boot tyre bay. Should be 255/50/19 for fitment to P38. When speedo reads 60 you will be doing a little over 62 MPH on 55s remember that.

I find that running 38 in the rear without any load in the back burns the middle band of the tyre!
Im running my rears at 30psi and so far seem to ware even but ill come back and update if i change my mind
likewise.

i run 28PSI all round and get bang on even wea r accross the tread face

To find the exact tire pressure for your car and tires, this can be a way:
On a dry day put a couple of chalk marks across the treads, drive some short distance straight ahead (on a empty parking lot) Take a look on the chalk marks, if the chalk mark wear away in the middle of the treads first, to high pressure, if the chalk wear away on the sides first, to low pressure.

And if the chalk wear away on one side first, misalignment of the wheels.
