I lost all my timing and cylinder head tools for Twinspark Alfa Romeo’s a few years back. I’ve been so careful ever since. Now I’m wiser and more cautious.

I "lost" a really decent mig welder, Hd Ramps, work lights and a whole myriad of tools. When I moved I lent them to a really good friend as I didn't have room at the time, but now I do, he doesn't speak to me or return any of my messages. BUT to be honest it's my friend that I miss not my tools.

Does not sound to be much of a friend to be fair. Think i would be going around to his place and getting the stuff back. With friends like that who needs enemies.

Well they had to get better, could not possibly get any worse. ;):D

We don't have the same rust problem here as you do in the UK, so there are a few relatively pristine Alfa's still around.

I know this because I often notice them on the side of the road with the bonnet up . Mind you I just purchased my 50th LR (a P38) after seeing that on the side of the road in just the same condition - then owner was somewhat taken aback but extremely pleased to hear the words "would you like to sell this?" from a stranger who'd pulled up to help o_O

That said there's no way I'd ever make the same offer for an Alfa!

I get a a bit annoyed when Jerremy Clarkson says you can't call yourself a petrol head unless you've owned an Alfa. It's all very well if you are a millionaire and can afford for the dealer to come out to recover the dammed thing and fix it several times a year.

Having owned a lot of Alfa's this is total rubbish;). The P38 needs just as much attention and money spent on it if not more than my Alfa ever does and don't get me started on my classic BM as that's worse than the pair of them. :p Having driven all three brands I can say the Alfa is the most rewarding drive by far.

Re the p38, that's why I haven't got one of them either.
