What security devices did you have fitted AT THE TIME YOUR LANDY WAS STOLEN?

I reckon that Rat Trap looks pretty good tbh, everyone saying dropping props without shifting car or jacking a wheel....your certainly in the minority, props can be a right c.unt to get off quickly, plus pedal lock and disklok, seems pretty good to me!

Don't ferget to occasionally test the alarms to make sure they're working.

There's some guy punting these around FB, a hand brake lock

It look like one of those 'maybe it'll be alright with other things' devices , but on it's own, meh, you could low box and drive off taking a chance,

If anyone wants more looks: https://m.facebook.com/TheftDefenderSolutions/

The very latest on the X-eng pedal lock saga is that they've had very good feed back from both Foundry 4x4 and from Simon, the product designer. They are determined to implement a solution ASAP.

From Stephen Edwards;
"Hi guys, I'm the owner of Foundry 4x4 Ltd and X-Eng. As you are all probably aware Myke Ready has highlighted a flaw in the design of our pedal lock. Hands up it is not something we were aware of previously ( I don't want to get drawn into arguments that we have been told before - this is the first time we have ever been shown that it could be circumvented). Having spoke to Myke and Tom, on the admin, and after having several conversations with Simon Rafferty (the original designer and former owner of X-Eng) we believe we have come up with a solution to overcome the issue. The fix will be one very similar to Myke's design but will be manufactured as a retrofit item so that all the existing X pedal locks can be upgraded. Simon will be drawing up the design on Monday and we will be getting our laser cutters to commence work ASAP (we are going to test it first obviously to ensure it works). We will then, once we are satisfied that it works, offer these as a FREE upgrade to all owners of vehicles fitted with X-Eng pedal locks that contact us for one.

The next batch of pedal locks will be modified to ensure this design flaw is overcome.

I can only apologize that this has occurred and, hopefully, this will help rectify the situation.
Regards
Steve"

Looks a good device but sad that we have to go to these levels to protect our Land Rovers.
l assume that with that device fitted it is OK to leave the steering wheel in the vehicle, as you are not going to be able to do anything with it.
Unless the thief steals it (the wheel) out of spite, then you are not getting home so easily.

Handbrake locks on a Defender are beyond pointless. The amount of times I drove around with my handbrake on, in my 90 was ridiculous (the light didnt work, new car n all that) It just drove through it with almost no problem, once I drove a good 30 minutes before I realised, mainly because of the horrific smell. Done it a couple times on my 110 as well, and yes the handbrakes still work :p

The Optimil thing is quite clever, means you can leave the wheel in the car. Though with the cost of it and having to use their snap off boss it isn't really that much more effective than a Disklok with the half moons welded on the back but triple the cost.

No good to me, I don’t stand on motorway bridges so I won’t see anything on the roof and as I’m a midget I won’t see anything on any Landy, for that matter but I wouldn’t even see it on a Sinclair C5 either:rolleyes:

Maybe to stop peeps getting ideas ...

Do you want me to take mine off?

Good question, I would have to remove the quote of yours as well, I would leave it as it shows how vulnerable they are, but then as you say it could give others ideas..??

I say leave it for now, if anyone complains then remove it.....what you say @blue beasty ??
Cheers
