Hi, hope someone can help. I have a 2.5 diesel n/a 1988 90. A month ago I had work done to my truck. New input shaft transmission box re-con gearbox and clutch. Today coming home I noticed when I put the clutch pedal down. The oil waning light comes on. I did too the oil up at the weekend.
Any ideas would be most appreciated.

So does it do it when idling in neutral at standstill and the clutch is up?
Does engine hot or cold make a difference?

Cheers

What oil has it got in it and when did you last change it? best case is its the switch, worst case as you depress the clutch the crank is moving sideways due to worn thrusts and dumping your oil pressure, have to be pretty shagged to do that mind.
Iirc p38 diesels with manual boxes used to have a problem along the same lines.

Easy check for the crank, engine off and get someone to push the clutch up and down whilst you watch the front crank pulley for in/out movement.

Started the old girl up today, and light didn’t come on when cold. I turned it off again and will try and change pressure switch. Fingers cross it’s that.
