Hi all, discovery problems

Hi all, my disco 4 is playing up and nobody seems to know what it is. It all started when I went into the shop, came out 3 minutes later and it wouldn't start. After trying for 2-4 more goes it started, but it wouldn't rev up and there was a big cloud of smoke! It's not knocking or rattling, just won't rev and smokes. Took it to a local Land Rover specialist and he told me it was the auxiliary turbo. Bought and changed this. Still the same, please help!! Thanks in advance.

what year and engine do u have plse , auto or manual

Get the codes read and focus on egr valves

2010 sdv6 and auto. Also there are no codes, the turbo that was replaced was full of oil if that helps. Thanks

only things i can think of are

secondary turbo pipe
turbo drain pipe , think there’s a TSB notice for that
split intercooler hose

if no codes are coming up it may need a land rover dealer to look at it

There's that much smoke it looks like a Kuwaiti oil field on fire

pleasure and hope it helps , wonder if it’s worth calling ur local land rover dealer to see what outstanding tsbs ( recalls ) are on ur D4 , if so may be able to get it done FOC

mainly to get the modified secondary turbo drain pipe ??

thks, by the looks of it reading the above link ref the modified turbo drain pipe is also indicated by white smoke ,

hopefully it will resolve the issue for u , ur garage should know if there unaware of that tsb notice , or failing that ur main dealer may be a better option if the current garage can’t fix it
