@Colonial,
"Its not a an Air con or sunroof problem?":confused::confused:

Your use of a question mark renders the above neither a statement of fact nor a question, it's ambiguous.
Here's a linky to the the roof drains anyway.:)

Apologies for the question mark. It shouldn't have been there.
I've fixed the issue that you've highlighted in the video and which post 16 also refers to, slightly differently but just as effectively, however the carpets remained wet. I've poked and prodded the a/c pipes and dried the carpets then run the car for 75 miles with the a/c on over the weekend in dry weather, no dampness. However, I suspect that there may be a drain beneath the scuttle that might be blocked. Before I start stripping wipers etc. I need to know if in fact there is a drain behind the scuttle. The car had been standing beneath conifer trees that were shedding seeds and other material and I'm wondering if this might have blocked a drainage hole.

Almost certainly there will be drains for the scuttle/bulkhead area.
Have you removed the long seal that retains the scuttle panel?
You should be able to pry the panel up for a look-see.
I've no experience of the Sport per say, but most marques have this set up.

This may or may not help, it's for the LR3 but they share a lot.

Many thanks to all for your advice. myfirstl322, I did what you suggested. It worked to an extent but the space was too narrow to fully explore by hand. I'll remove the cowling panel entirely in the next few days. I'm definitely certain it's not a sun roof issue. I've rodded the A pillar hoses with net curtain wire from above and poured water down them which exits the vehicle via the wing grills. Also satisfied that the pollen filter box is fine. The a/c hoses have also been rodded and has been working without causing any damp issues.
Many thanks all.
