There's a slight hole forming in the corner of the rear top (curved) windows on my disco 1. I've seen someone with a chequer plate in its place but can't remember who it where I saw it. Any ideas??

Each to there own.
I think that is a great idea to cover up those stupid sky windows, particularly as in my part of the world they only seem to help heat up the interior of the vehicle to greater temps, seeing how they only seem to function to allow the roof of your Disco to slowly rust away, I'd like to remove the whole raised roof bit off my D1 and just have it all the same level as the front.
Most big hardware stores sell small pieces of ally chequer plate that is usually thin enough to work to the right shape to cover or fit in where the glass goes, but if you have the normal rust problem they could overlay the curve and be put on with "sikaflex" that will both seal and fix the panels to the roof .
