Fuse box problems

My previous problem concerning the "key code lockout" got solved, thanks again for all the input!

A new problem has accorded.
The central lock system wasn't working.. So I checked the fuse box and pulled the relay on RL 15.

I switched the relay with an other (Green) relay, which resulted in smoke coming from the fuse box.
I took the relay out at once but I think some damaged has been done to the fuse box.

After that I tried to start the car without the relay on place (RL15), and the car was showing many faults at its display.

Even the speedometer doesn't work any more.

Would changing / fixing the fuse box help or is perhaps related somewhere else like the bcme?

I tried once more after cleaning the fuse box. Then it resulted in a zooming sound from the left side steering column area.

A little later, all of the electricity went off. Only when I took out the relay on RL 15 the power came back on with the previous problems still present.

Any input would be greatly appreciated..

Relay 15 is the ignition relay you obviously have a short circuit somewhere. If the fuse box is smoking one would think that would be the problem.

Thank you for your reaction.
Would you think that the fuse box can be fixed or should I look for an other fuse box?

Ever since I owned the car, the fuse box always smelled a bit "burned".
It has been "fixed" twice, but I doubt it has been fixed correctly.

I just have been offered a fuse box with number : 6376.
The current fuse box has number 3376.

I searched the Internet if this box can be used, but I couldn't find it unfortunately.

Does someone know if I can use this box?

No fuse box 6376 in parts list. If your present one is AMR3376 you can also use AMR6406 or AMR6477 which is the latest one. Lots on Ebay or http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/fuse-25td-9498-genuine-amr3376-amr6406-amr6477-p-4613.html
