Gear Selector

Hi,
I'm new here and desperately looking for a gear selector for a Freelander 1, 2.0TD4, 2006, part number UKN101000. Landrover tell me that this part has now been discontinued and I cannot find one, new or used anywhere. It went at the beginning of February, the socket part of the ball and socket joint has worn away so that the ball no longer remains in place. The AA did a wonderful temporary fix with a heavy duty, plastic bag of all things. My car has since done about five hundred miles but it is only a matter of time before it fails altogether, hence my ongoing search.
I would be really grateful if anybody could help out in any way. I have tried numerous on line places for new and used and just can't find one anywhere.

Click Forums on the top toolbar, scroll down to the Freelander section and open the page. Post new thread tab is at top right of the list of threads.
