Disco 3 (LR3) Disco 3 diagnostics

Not entirely sure yet. Says it doesn't do anything and says it is inactive. We've both got jobs that need doing tomorrow but migth get a chance to have a look tomorrow evening. I've just seen these things have timing belts! No chains! Ouch. :eek:


first of all and hope this doesn't come across rude in any way

have u checked the fuses first

is there power at the compressor

looking at the suspension lever inside the car is there a red light next to it

have got 3 x levels

access , normal and off road height

if u have power at the compressor it normally means the compressor has had it

had to replace mine, know the suspension systems well,

belts must be replaced 105,000 miles or 7 x years , mine just been replaced

Not checked anything yet! However, I suspect that my experience with the P38 will set me in good stead. He says the bags were totally shot. The seller told him that. I figure if it has been feeding leaks it will have burnt the compressor too.
 
Result! Timing belt and oil pump replaced at 100k miles. That's a relief as I just watched a video and it looked a bit of a slog.

great stuff, at least that's saved a grand , lol

aplogises as i didn't realise what experiance u had, seeing u had a p38 can understand u will be more than experienced enough to deal with it :)

didn't wish for it to come across trying to tell u how to suck eggs

No problem. I've just watched Storey Wilson change an air-spring and it is somewhat more fiddly that the P38's 2 clips and out! They certainly didn't consider access a priority!
 
I'm just having a gander at air-spring prices. !!!!

I'm so lucky I have a P38!

don't do it, but that's my own personal opinion and at the end of the day none of my business

surprised if all 4 x have gone ,
 
The D3 setup looks a big improvement but I can get all 4 for the P38 for 200 notes. He's going to have to rent his daughters out to afford these!

think it would cost around £800 for all new air struts

christ knows what's made all four go

could it just be a leak, or failed compressor

leaking air tank, or bad air valve
