For me, it's not excellent, but it's because even though thousands have bought DAB up here, there is only one transmitter, so when you lose the signal going west or south, that's it, back to FM.

However, saying that, when it's working it's fabulous! When I went to Edinburgh, the choice was epic and no loss of quality whatsoever. If you do go down that route, choose the magnetic antennae as it sits head & shoulders above the stick on windscreen jobs.

The DAB signal would get about two feet on on it's own, so it needs a carrier wave to allow it to reach your fast traveling motor.

Normally, your FM antennae will suffice, but most DAB wirelesses have a completely different socket for the antennae so a different antennae is required and the mag mount job is high up on the roof and gets the best signal

Just seen Albany's setup. He has a nice one on the same side window. Ideally I'd put it the other side and then connect it into the existing amplifier, assuming the 2 didn't interfere. Must say, the size of his DAB amplifier is about 6 times bigger than the stock FM one, IIRC.

A mate bought the exact same one for a fiver at a boot sale. It's ok, long as it works fine. I do love mine as it's bluetooth I can make & take calls and stream music directly from my phone. Georges speakers are feckin awesome and then some The bass is astounding
