Hello all, my name is Mike and I have been living here in Oman for the last 8 years, sadly it has all come to an end as I had the ordasity to reach the grand old age of 60 just last week and thats kicking out here.
I have been an engineer on large gas tirbine helicopters for the last 40 years and just retiring form vvip job.
My second wife produced 3 lovely children and a son from previous conviction totals now a family of 5.
I have an ex Mother in Law's Disco TD5 on a Y plate, its the ES version, and with the rotten chasis and leaking fluids it's going to be a Summer challenge when i get out of here in March and back to beautiful Perthshire where I reside.
As this is an intro I willsave all the technical quizzing for a fresh thread.
In Oman I was gifted an old 78 vintage 3.5 V8 petrol Defender, affectionately known around the camp as "Rolling Thunder" owing to the rumbling of the transmission and blue smoke which trailed it.
A 200 v8 disco was next and had the engine in kit form on the kitchen table while family were in summer recess.I am proud to boast that other than M.O.T's I have never had a car (of about 80 to date) in a garage in my life.
Thats about it till you hear my cries for help.
Nice to be part of this.
Mike.
