as the title suggests, i have wanted a range rover for some time.
the problem has been that the old V8 was going down hill with every year.
i was introduced to the BMW V8 when i was working on Morgans in the U.K. for Libramotive.
but now the time has come!!!
i just purchased a 2004 HSE.
although not perfect, it is fairly good for its age. it does need the roof and the bumpers repainted but that is no problem as i have the facilities to take care of it.
the interior is very nice with two exceptions, the drivers window controls and the fascia behind the drivers seat controls.
under the hood there is one small problem with what appears to be a vacuum line which is open at one end and the other end disappears into the left front corner behind the headlamp.
there is no wiring for a trailer socket and i need electric trailer brakes so i guess i will have to bite the bullet and splash out $300.00 for the kit.
o.k. a little about myself, i am 66 years old and married to my benefactor who kindly sprung for the rangy,
.i have also two Jaguar XK8's in excellent condition for their age, a 97 and a 99.
i am a mechanical engineer by qualification and a member of SAE international, i am also a certified master tech mechanic and a vehicle body repair technician but of course now retired.
i live in Meadview Arizona in a 1350 sq.ft. house that i built myself that i am extending over the next 2 years. i have a 1700 sq.ft. workshop that is well equiped to the point that my wife refers to it as the factory.
i hope that i can contribute to your forum and in return, gain some tips and tricks to prolong the life of the Range Rover.
