As the title says, refitted the stereo this morning all was good, settled all the cables about, pushed the stereo into the dash, all was good, tried the stereo, don't work, no power to the yellow wire(power to the red) though), clocks not working either so I though fuse, but no that is good, the car doesn't start now either, all lights come on, but nothing when you turn the key,
Any ideas?

Sounds like your immobiliser is on.

You can also try the EKA code, or disconnecting the battery for 5 mins then reconnect.

I have, and it's fine, I swapped it out, and checked it with a meter,
The car will start when you unlock the doors for the first time, if you turn if off, it won't start again?

Just for fun and info.
If you open your key fob, does it have two little yellow chips on it? like the picture of no.1 or is it like no.2?

No 1 is a D2 key fob the extra yellow chip is the passive immobilisation chip.
No 2 is a rover 75 key fob.

I had one yesterday, for some weird reason the fob stopped working, disconnected battery for 5 mins and then was OK.

Cheers

You said you checked the fuses...................in your first post........LOL...

Nice job, But is the stereo working???? and does it sound good?

the question is now, what wire is bare that caused the fuse to blow....????..

Cheers
