hi
Had my td5 for 11 years and trying to keep her as original as pos. the radio has given up the ghost and trying to find another one with the same part number is like hell! You can get them, but from the states, and not sure what that entails reception wise!
I've been told that if I use an TD5 Alpine radio with a different part number they are in some way incompatible, and I've also been told it makes no difference!
Where better to get the right advice but from you lot !!!
Thanks in anticipation

From what I know of the Disco 2 Alpine R990 radio head unit, yes, there are a couple of different part numbers but in most cases they will physically fit in the slot and the connectors at the back will marry up.
There can be problems with some of the units from the US in that their VHF FM channel spacing and consequently the channel search will be different but to my knowledge that's all.
There is at the moment one XQD101690LNF in the UK on the bay:

I am taking mine out soon, I will look at the part number for you

I had repatriated disco back a few years ago and head unit had different frequency to uk so you would probably need uk spec headunit.

Just a wee update, I had a bit of a delay with my order. I say next weekend I will take my radio out and post the serial numbers for you

Me too. I think I might have one for you. Sad news today, :( the old limo is beyond it. List of things needed for MOT has got longer than my arm, (and deeper than my wallet). The radio/tape player is good tho'. I'll see if I can get the part number. (It is a 1999 TD5). PM me if you are interested.
