Hi All,

I've searched till my eyes are google shaped, and I'm still not confident enough in the answers to go out and spend the money...

I have an R380, and a knackered-beyond-repair 300tdi seat box. I want to replace it. I want to keep the 3 front seat layout.

Can I use a TD5 Seat box? Are all the seat holes, etc, in the same place?

Can I use a tdci Seat box? Are all the seat holes, etc, in the same place?

I've read a couple of reports that the tdci seat boxes moved the outer seats in-board a little - because they no longer had a 3 seat option. Is this true? does it mean 3 seats wont fit without drilling? I can't find any info on whether this is the case with TD5 boxes or not.

Thanks

Adam

Whats knackered about your oild box?

Erm... It landed on it...

When it had no axles and I was trying to get the gearbox out. Engine crane in through the cab, supporting the box, then the axle stands under the chassis went, so the hole thing landed on the gearbox really... Bulkhead and seat box both have interesting shapes....

Not sure about the seat positions. Come to think of it, cant remember seeing newer ones with a central seat. Just cubby box. IIRC the gear box tunnel shape changed from 300 to TD5 and so you may have to modify the tunnel section between the bulkhead and the new seat box. Someone with more experience of the two bulkheads are bound to tell you.
The seat box must be pretty bad if you don't think you can fix it?

The transmission tunnels between td5 and 300tdi are the same. so their is no reason why it wouldn't work.
I used a td5 seatbox in mine, they're just easier to get hold of in reasonable condition.

Yup, 110.. The tank is deffo not going under any seating ;)

Thanks for clarifying that Aaron... There's a td5 one for sale near me, so that's ideal.
