Lights and Wiring Loom

Hi guys
Today i have been loosening off my rear tub in preporation for a new chassis and whilst i was under there i noticed that the wiring loom from the bulkhead to the rear lights was running on top of the chassis so i pulled it out from under the tub as i noticed it had been repaired in a few places at the back so i think i will replace this part of the loom aswell as replace all the light whilst i am at it, i am not sure yet wether to go for std lights or LED lights and also where i can buy a wiring loom from, can anyone help please

If I was doing it,I'd probably make up a new wiring loom myself. It's not difficult to do, particularly if you have the old one to use as a guide. Just buy the cable in the right colours, the bullet connectors, and some wiring loom tape and have a bash at it. Most of the wires will be pretty much the same length anyway as they terminate behind the right-hand lights. There's the reverse light/difflock connections which are a part of the same loom, plus the smaller wiring loom that runs from left to right at the back of the tub.

I replaced my rear lights a while ago and went for standard ones to keep the original appearance. It depends on what you're doing with the rest of the Landy.

i bought an autosparks rear loom as the cost of the autosparks loom was eclipsed by the time/effort required to make my own

And it all plugged in and worked first time which as a bonus - used wipac LED light kit and have no regrets either - can see my landy from space unlike some of my mates

As above, the LED side/indicators are miles better than the originals, much brighter, no more blown bulbs, no more lights full of water. If I were you, I'd buy the loom, mostly to get the multi plug at the engine end. I'd run it in convoluted/corrugated tubing along the top of the chassis.

Cheers yeah we want to keep the loom on top of the chassis and will be getting the LED's as with a new loom

Autosparks is the place to get your looms from
they are not cheap though

LED. Bolt on Bits do brilliant side indicators and wiring looms and if you're flush get the JW Speaker LED kit for a piffling £500!
I got lucky and snagged a set for 80!
Also less.power draw on LED. Good luck Mate.
