the gear lever seems to move around alot while driving ,seems fine just move alot when in motion

does it have rubber bushes that ware? and if so are they hard to change

rigth been having a quick look at the car today (going to relook at sun roof later)

is the right? if you look on below pic should the wheel hub have a track rod connected to that front bit like it does on the other side???

next seeing that the last owner swopped bumpers and fitted this not so nice winch one ,if you look below is there any covers that will cover things up like the windscreen water bottle

also as you see below theres a bit missing just above the mud flap

The steering setup is fine, that bracket is for lhd only

Right had a play with the sun roof !!!!

front one not working but rear working fine,first i checked the manaul for fuses to find one fuse runs both ,so not the fuse lol

relay clicking in when button pressed but nothing more!!

so i put the rear motor that is working on to the front sunroof and yay sunroof opens fine so MUST BE THE MOTOR!!!

and yep as you can see below
Very dirty and rusty

as im sure you can see very dirty ,got some cleaning solution and a booth brush ,cleaned the motor all up but nothing ,still not working ,what in the motor could of gone

before cleaning the spindel was more or less seized ,but now spins good
could the little solenoid have blown or something?

There is not a lot to go wrong with electric motors.

The commutator, that's the copper part just above the shaft you are holding, is pretty grotty, use very fine emery to clean it up, clean out any build up between the segments, carefully! It also indicates that the brushes will be pretty bad too, check they are not broken and the springs that push them against the commutator are free.

yep just took apart again to find both magnets has broken ,i assume you cant just but replacement magnets

Unlikely, best bet is to try grab a replacement from a breaker, these are expensive to replace new.

ive fixed it ,both sun roofs 100% working fine !!!

the broken magnets i superglued them back together lol and it worked !!! may not last forever but for now working spot on

all i did after gluing them was get the dremmel and reshape them

I have a diagnostic wifi thing that worked fine on my 2001 td4 but does not seem to work with my new td5 ,anyone no why?

right heres the pics
1. what is this? its on passengers side around about under the front seat,looks like a bat box but its not,well i assume not lol


2. went in my fuse box WOW looks like a ****ing cowboy been working in there,to me this looks like some kind of hands free kit ,badly fitted do you all agree??
this is like the main box to it almost like a wifi box lol

and these run off it ,looks like a sony erricson to me?

the plug and bundle of taped up wires above all run to that wifi looking box

3. But because they fitted that they have hacked at some othere wiring but not sure what,heres the plug they had hacked into ,anyone no what this plug should be for or where it should of once pluged in??

as you can see next to my thumb,they have snipped the wire but i dont no what this plug should run/connect to

anyone help please?

Hi the box in pic 1 is the air compressor for the rear air springs.
Wiring doesn't look too bad, not good though but Ive seen a lot worse!
