Hello all,

I am completely new to 4x4 life and so far I absoloutly love it and can't believe I have left it this long! I am based in netley abbey outisde southampton.
This is my car number 17 car which previously consisted of mainly kit cars, capris, mx5s, 200sx etc Now i have entered a new love of 4x4's. I bought this car on Saturday so it is very new to me.

My friend had a freelander 2 which I had a ride in and he used to tow a boat and i was surprised about how well it performed in lots of aspects! I also went for a ride greenlaning in a couple of new defenders which sold it to me, I had to get a landrover!

I didnt have a very big budget as I am saving for a house but I managed to buy me a freelander TD4 05 plate for £2500 which I think was a good deal, it had no advisories on the MOT and overall Its in very good condition with 4 new tyres.

So here are some pictures. and please bare with me I am completly new and I have already asked a couple of questions in the query tab!
I have also managed to find some rockslider bars that I will be fitting this week once the rivnuts and tool comes through the post!

Thanks all. I'm looking forward to getting involved, learning new things and hopefully meet some of you! Already watched some of the videos on here, I can see a lot of my time being spent here...

I am not new to 4x4s I have had jeeps now for 17years!!! And I work them very very hard my newest one has a 10 000 pound winch on the front what a blessing to be able to hook up to something solid and pull a vehicle out 100 feet at a time in mere minutes!!! I am quite new to Range Rovers two years ago I bought a 2007 supercharged sport with 20 000 miles on it!!! The experience has been truly overwhelming the beauty of this vehicle is sticking it's silver and black on 20 inch rims and the reflection of the shine is blinding!!! The Harmon kardon system is amazing the best factory system I've heard!!! 400 Hp 4.2 liter engine puts the suv into a class of vehicle that surprises the Mustang owners that want to show off at the traffic lights!!! Took a mustang off the line and stayed 2 car lengths ahead of it up to the end needless to say the muscle car owner was embarrassed to be beat by a SUV!!!! ' I love jeeps but this vehicle is not easy to describe the feeling I get from it!! The pride of ownership, it's capacity to turn heads, it's safety features it's leather quality, build quality are solid!!! Only thing is that it comes with a price at 144 000$ for the 2015 model at that price range only a few people can put the pride of ownership over the justification of the price!!!

Hello and welcome to the mad house! You may own a Gaylander but have a Beagle so that cancels out the former! :)

Haha yes I see he term gay lander around quite a lot on these forums. Glad the beagle helps change this slightly!

So far I have fitted rock sliders, tinted wind deflectors, steam cleaned the interior, changed the egr part to a blanking unit and taken off the inlet manifold for a good clean with Mr muscle!

Also I see your from the dordogne region. I go there a fair bit and also have a family place down by le mans also, near la fleche.

Hi. Small world. Just joined too with an 05 Freelander HSE Td4 same colour and we live in the Limousin, not far from the Dordogne.
Like the beagle in the back and but not for the Gaylander comment from another welcoming member.
Turns out that the vehicle most likely to be driven by a gay chappie, according to an Oxford university study, is in fact more likely to be one perceived to be butch. Topping the list in said study was, wait for it, the Defender. Whisper it though, we wouldn't want to upset our fellow members batting, or in this case, driving, for the other side.

All the best!

You'll soon learn the way things are on here and the calling of a Freelander a Gaylander is pretty mild, if you find that unacceptable then I suggest you stay well away from the Anything goes section of the forum.
Although I don't own a Gaylander, I am Gay and don't find it offensive.
