Grrrr. What's this bit called?

Local LR stealership wanted £54 for the idler, not in stock so tomorrow.

Local factors don't do genuine but had an 'INA' replacement for £15, not in stock so tomorrow.

Britishparts.co.uk had a genuine one in stock for £28 so just went and picked it up. Annoying as I was only there yesterday getting some clear indicator lenses. Seem to have a vast selection of stock on the shelf at reasonable prices and are 12 minutes away from me. The sales guy on the counter could cheer up a bit but hey ho.

Only niggle is they didn't have a genuine belt so have a britpart one. I've read they sometimes need a bit of a shoeing to get on. We'll see come 4pm. The original had a toothed back, this is a flat one. Any real difference?

Personally I don't see how running a smooth belt over grooved pulleys under tension is going to end well, I'd fit it until I could get a Dayco one on there and then keep it for emergencies

I say smooth, but just got it out of the bag and it is 'ridged'. The ridges fit perfectly in the grooves of the idler...

Still personally I'd be putting a Dayco one one my shopping list, I recently had an allmakes one on mine that started coming apart after a couple of months and I'd trust a Britpart one less

I'll get an original but no immediate rush

New idler, 2 minutes if that. Getting the belt on, the other 58 minutes. All done within the hour but needed a second pair of hands
