Austin/Morris Mini - anyone clued up?

Been looking around at prices for these and they same to vary enormously. I've seen anything from 4k to 14k - quite a leap!

This one's for sale at under a grand..so even if the underside needs replacing, could still be worth a punt?

T plate is 1979, they had dropped the cooper and introduced the 1275GT by then.

The wide arches were standard 1275GT, but many standard cars had them added.

As it's sat on grass there's a very good chance the floor will have rotted out, together with the rest of the underside.
All panels are available but cost start to rise quickly.

At this age they were badged as BL, Austin and Morris were long gone.

£500 would be my punt, expect £1000 for refurb and £500 for paint

I have a friend who runs a paint shop so that bit isn't too difficult. Garage wise...also got friends who own garages. Would really only be panels and fitting I guess, as well as any body work restoration. Is there a way to tell if it's a genuine GT?

It will show as a GT on the V5.

If the restoration is gonna cost around 2K why dont you just buy a better one for that amount and save yourself alot of grief lol

Yes, it would have a clubman front!

The first GT's were Clubman's, but I'm sure later they came with the normal front, and 1979 is later in the GT time frame.

I'm sure they use the BL tooling so will be a correct fit, but you'll pay for it.
