help needed please

i have a bit of a strange problem with my 98 Freelander 2L L series engine when cranking i can only get diesel to come out of pipe 1 and 4 .. was running ok when to start her ran rough on idle for 10 seconds then cut out and wont restart fitted new fuel filter still nothing thanks for any help

Can't help with your problem I'm afraid but someone will have an idea.

so sorry I've got a td4 but there are others here that will help , just feed them cake and mind ur fingers through the bars , lol

is there two filters on the l series ? plus wonder if poss the fuel pump is on its way out

or the 2 and 3 pipes are blocked ?? , has it been serviced etc and it's history or any probs

only 1 filter on L series. had a new pump about a year ago really hope its not that they cost an arm. 2and 3 pipes are clear. wonder if it could be one of the sensors?

so sorry I can't help as I've got a td4

where abouts are u in the uk plse

thinking about it if u are getting diesel at the other pipes , suppose that rules out the fuel filter and pump , seems strange ur not getting fuel out of the other pipes

so as the fuel pipe comes up u get diesel there , so if u have would it be a problem further on , unless it goes through number 1 then onwards

does the pipes need to be vented when re connected

glows ok etc

have u done a search on here about problems with cold starting

hi again im from just outside Silverstone got her running :clap2: fitted new injector pump and she fired into life . thanks for your help and comments
