Ok so was just wondering if any of you run your landy without a viscous fan all feed back greatly received
More power Alan HELL![]()
the fan wobbles slightly i looked at new fans and they are around 100 quid but a viscous clutch on its own minus the fins is like 35 quid... I dont know much about them would a new clutch and swapping the fins fix this wobble?
Thanks

How does it wobble? Do the blades wobble a little or is it physically loose? You cannot buy a viscous hub for the diesels just the complete fan.
I think its just the blades that are wobbling you can rock it back and forwards. the water pump seems fine.
thanks for the help
the blades on mine wobbled i thought ill just tighten that up, no they were tight turned out the metal plate the fan was moulded to was stress cracked and about to fall apart. some thing to check before it takes the rad out
Oh dear I'll see if i can tighten it up. What should i look for that may indicate a duff water pump?
my fan showed up as a vibration when driveing, thought engines funny so checked and found the wobbly fan god knows what damage it was about to do if i hadnt found it.
If it's a diesel, you can bin the viscous if the engine and cooling system are in good order and use the aircon fans instead. On the V8 they can be used as back up in case the viscous fails. Simple mod, costs less tha £15 to do.Guess what I'm changing tomorrow then lol still not sure if the apparent "gains" are worth the hassle of an electric fan..
