Well finally got around to changing the wheels and throwing some 30mm spacers on just for good measure. Freelander came with 225/55/17 on alloys which is pretty much the standard. Managed to get five 15" steels off Ebay and have had them powder coated. Tyres are Maxxis All Terrain at 225/70/15. Now I know we all like pictures so....................

The spacers have made a massive difference to handling too. Didn't actually need them for this tyre size, I just like the look!! Got some caps on the way for the wheel centres they just ain't arrived yet. If anyone knows where I can get some 22mm plastic wheel nut covers that are pretty fooking long I'd love to know !!!!

Shotgun shell might be 22mm I will measure one of mine empty ones look ace on the wheel nuts got a nice brass end to them too

Fence looks better........

Oh and ya wheels look ace!

I think shot gun cartridges are suitable for 17 or 19 mm nuts as I have seen a set on a polo

them white lettering reminds me of years ago in the 70s when I had some goodyear grand pri s with white letters ,then you could buy some white lettering pen to keep them nice

Neighbour bankrolls the fence. I have a Freelander to spend on.........

Ah yes, the Good Year Grand Prix S. Had some of them on me Mk1 Escort. Sure I remember a TV advert with some ex plod claiming they were "a major contribution to road safety". Didn't give a toss myself, they just looked good. I used to touch up the letters with a pencil brush and Airfix paint !!

They look great. Shame I can't fit 15" LR rims to mine. Not recommended for the late Freelanders with GVW of 2525kg.

Mine comes in at 2080kg so I was happy with that. Registered in March '06 I would assume it was built in '05 so probably just missed out on the increase.
