110 Truck cab to hardtop...

Managed to pick up a rear door, sides, roof and tub to convert my truck cab to hardtop... Perfect for what I want it for!

If the rear tubs in better condition than mine, I'm going to swap that too.
Is it possible to lift the whole lot off in one go? I.e roof, sides and tub as one, saves me lining it all up again...

It must be possible but it's a hell of a lot easier to take it to bits.

My rear tub's not horrendous anyway so might be a lot easier to just fit the roof and sides straight on to that. Mine came as a single cab pickup from the factory in 1987 though, will it still bolt straight on?

Also, does anybody know what the part number for the seal Is which sits between the tub and the sides?

Yep, I converted my 1992 110 pickup to a van a month or so ago. Just bolted straight together.

I was doing a swap with another chap tho so he had my truck cab so all the seals came with it.

Well I can have the whole lot as he's converting his 110 to a tipper so that should give me everything I need... Just thought while I was at it I'd fit a new seal.

Quite excited to get a roof on mine as that means I can start lining it, I'd like to slowly convert it to a camper for weekend trips away.

Use the part number section on this forum - I had a quick look - are you talking about the seal between the roof and the tub around the sides? I'm sure some cheaper foam generic stuff on ebay would be ok. The genuine seal may cost a lot. I had a quick search and it wa £24 per side lol

Spend some time looking on the part site to make sure you have the right fixings. I just spent about £50 buying all new nuts and bolts/fixings/seals for my roof.

Oh and you can lift the roof and sides as one, quite heavy but do-able with two of you, that's how we did the swap.

Didn't swap tubs, but mine was better anyway.

I think I'll keep my tub now, there's not a lot wrong with it and seems like a lot of hassle for little gain. Can't wait now... Can't get it for a couple of weeks though until he sources a hi cap rear bulkhead for his tipper body.

Actually ignore those part numbers above. They are for a station wagon. But you get the idea, look at the parts section on this forum and you'll find the correct bits that you need.

Yeah you will.. you might have to bugger about with the plate that rear door's middle hinge fits to as yours will be drilled for the anti-luce fastener

Anyway Leon stop messing about with that and get your camera out...!
