Hi all, as you know this was landy zone's first independent event and as such I think it went rather well.
Now the dust has settled, it would be great to get some feedback on things please.

Now I think the location was stunning and great for the kids to enjoy the fresh air.( my Daughter loved the field to run round with other children and explore).
Although beyond our control I would have prefered toilets closer- that said the toilets and showers were stunning.

ticket prices were amazingly cheap and I'd pay £8ish a day on basis of decent toilets as we had and if say children were free or say £1.50 a day over 5 to attend perhaps.

I'd like to see some traders , there was a T shirt chap I believe and it would be nice to see some forum members selling reasonably priced items.

Wiltshire Landy Man's Solar Road Show was most impressive with spectacular lighting.

kids area another good idea.

I'd personally hoped bar would be £2.50 a pint, but couple of pints of real ale went down a treat.

sure I will think of something else to add other than the bacon rolls and burgers were champion.

price and location was fantastic! showers were great as were the toilets, i loved the children's tent and Kimberly loved the films, the laning was good (maybe i should have traveled the other lanes on the Sunday instead of going to the pay and play!)

in fact the only gripes were beer was a bit expensive with lack of choice, and i parked in the wrong place

got to agree everything was great except for beer was a bit expensive with lack of choice

what was the deal with the bar anyway? could you not bring and tap your own kegs? bottles, etc

Ya need an out door event licence to sell booze allegedly

Many did as 18 tins for £13 v £3 pint is a strong motive to buy at tesco.

Bar arrangements I had no involvement in.

Licencing is the issue if selling. Not just for us but for the site as well.. Cheaper would have been nice but otherwise they did us proud and I really appreciate the amount of effort they had to put in on, as it turned out, very short notice.

There were issues beyond anyones control that I dont really want to go into other than to say the Hall team really stepped up to make it happen for us :)

ah right.

maybe byob next time, or free beer with a totally unrelated forum donation bucket :D

The site was spot on. I plan to bring kids next year

Very impressed with food real nice top quality. I know it was pita for some people to be burger flipping but it was cheap enough I didn't have to worry about my own.

Kids cinema was a brilliant idea. Keep them amused!

Very impressed with toilets but agree they could have been closer to the marquee

If it was the same time next year maybe a heater? Not essential though as we survived well without one. With out weather it could be a heatwave next year

To get round licensing laws they were selling tickets for beer anyway. There was 2 different ales but only one on at a time.

I have been to a few events where there was free beer and a donations bucket. It worked well and made good money which would be good for charity, but would only work as well as the people at the events honesty

As there is talk of a 2015 event, this thread is just a positive feedback one and interested to see suggestions of those who attended.

If the weather had been better it would have been near perfect for most.

I spoke with BB as we were about to leave and mentioned better signage, but that was a last-minute let-down as I understand it, but it needs to be sorted for future events.

Showers and loos were probably a bit far to walk for a leak, but we were self-contained, only the boys and their entourage needed to use them. Located where they were the generator wasn't obtrusive.

Beer, don't drink the stuff, but I did leave my three bottles of wine behind at home! Nothing stopping people bringing their own, but having it on site must be worth paying more for?

Given the facilities, £20 is probably a little underpriced, but for those travelling distances it's another expense. If we made it £25 for next year, that would help fund the facilities and hopefully not put too much pressure on people's finances?

Too much chat on the LZ10 threads! Keep it simple and keep the chat out of important things like who is coming etc. I know it's nice to have a chat and comment, but the 'Who Is Coming' thread got grossly inflated by extraneous chat posts and ribald comments, confusing the issue completely.

The two ladies in our group thought highly of the general setup, rare praise indeed! and the littlies loved the area to run around with other kids in.

Don't change much, just keep it simple and do what you did this year. If we double the attendance for the same base cost, that would help enormously with the finances.

i think it could be fun having a lz at different locations, rotating each year..... hmm how about scotland next year :D
