Evening,

Parked up earlier I notied a brown liquid on my drive,

Traced it to rear left side of my D1, appears to be seeping from the brake calliper,

Hoping its not from the axle itself,

Also noticed a grinding noise coming from the rear today,

Ideas ?

check yer wheel bearings.

jack up the motor so the wheels off the floor, support securely.
holding the bottom of the wheel with ya fingers in the tread, pull outwards while pushing inwards with yer other hand on the top of the wheel. then do the opposite. then do it in quick succession.

any movement and the bearings want nipping up/checking for condition.
(apart from mud, its what trashes the oil seal)

you'll also want to check the brake shoes and drum for oil contamination.

I sometimes find that with the rear bearings being held fairly straight with the solid half shaft and drive plate that there isn't so much of a noticeable wobble when checking for play, try jacking up and simple pulling and pushing the hub, if there is any movement then it's time to check those bearings, but if that is ep then I take it you don't go Off Road, as its bloody clean ep if you do.

All I use my D1 for is off road, use my 90 as a day to day,

Got EP90 G4 turning up next week, had to leave it at work,

Waiting for some free time in the next few weeks so I can have a look at it
