I just put my gearbox back in, and the clutch works this time I put the transfer box back in this morning and I just want to double check that these bits are supposed to spin freely, both ends where the drive shaft attaches to.

For some reason I thought they shouldn't turn when I put it in gear with engine off.

If you are meaning the handbrake drum, it should turn.

Aye, and the bit at the other side of the transfer box where the front drive shaft attaches to.

For so e reason I thought something was wrong.

If your main box is in gear, the transfer box is in gear and the diff lock is engaged then it shouldn't turn, just backlash. Remember there is an open diff in the transfer.

Might be my system, but I cant see the pic of the front drive flange

But, as owl says they will rotate because of the centre diff.
