Here we go.
First stop - weather was being relatively kind to us - cold and windy but next to no rain until we'd finished the lanes and were off for a well deserved Maccy D's
On the way down to a couple of fords (not the Mudano or Focus kind):
Not long after this, I asked Sue if I still had a front bumper attached.. bloody concealed drainage channel!
Bumper still attached, but terrain 2, foglights nil (the other one's got a busted lens)
4x4s only..
weather still holding.
Lunch stop! Unfortunately the car park was full at Semer Water..full of water that is!
I suspect there's quite a bit of off piste activity around here
This road is shown in yellow on OS maps??!!!
Cracking shot of John negotiating the switchback - Discos are big, but I love 'em!
Looking back at the "yellow road" from my nearside rear window.
A pity I never took any pics of the tippy bit, but I was too excited, and a little scared about getting "technical". Was the highlight of my day though - I got out and hugged the Disco afterwards! (kinky bar steward!
).
Thanks to Sue & Zip for sorting the trip and leading. And a big thank you to everyone in the group. Once again the banter was great, no one broke owt (well, owt important that is
not foggy yet anyway!). Good to see Beaver and his good lady along in his Defender...which has shrunk and turned a darker colour!
John (discovery2TD5) those Hankooks look good on the Landy.
:tea: :tea:
CHEERS!
