welding gas pressure

For some reason i am going through gas at a silly rate, as a novice welder what should i set the gauges at, there is pressure gauge and a flow gauge I think. its a Clarke mig welder.

got a picture of gauge. conditions play the major part outside you will use more than inside a shop. also wire size and heat setting have a factor. I know when we miged outside we used twice what was normal for inside shop work

Don't leave it turned on when not in use. I wasted my first bottle due to this, must have had a leak somewhere

I make sure its turned off when not in use, and i am using it inside.

triggers are the cause just bump them and ..hisssssssssssssssssssssss

I have mine at work set at 8 to 10 litres per minute and that is whether welding 2mm or 50mm.try to use something with an argon mix 5 or 10 % not just c02 it will give you much better results.Hope that helps.

turn it right down, start welding on scrap piece, turn gas up till you get a clean weld.

Good job i seen this thread i have just remembered i left my gas turnt on

As for pressure it depends. Mine is set at 10 litres per minute when welding indoors, and between 15-20 litres per minute outside mostly depends on how windy it is.
