Fabricating a rear winch mount,

All welded in and red oxide everywhere I welded down both side and across the front

A little d loop for holding the rope not recovering from as its only bolted through some holes it happened to fit in.

And this is where the fairlead will sit, just the outside of the crossmember to cut now but getting late so pack up,

Bit more tonight, opening cut in the crossmember outer skin, fairlead bolted on,

Measured up for the new cables to have the made hopefully tomorrow to go from battery and back and 3 for the solenoid that will be mounted inside the back.

Not trying to teach you to suck eggs mate, but when you cut the cross member, make sure you cut it a bit back from the fairlead, unless you properly smooth it out. Even cut back, try to smooth it out as much as possible .. rope _will_ cut on the smallest metal notch/scratch .. ;)

If it was me I'd have been tempted to weld another plate across the crossmember between the chassis rails because it's now got a hole in it and that's going to weaken it a bit. I'm sure you'll be fine, I'm just thinking belt and braces.

The hole in the crossmember is larger than the fair lead it's smoothed off and I checked it with a straight edge and it's well clear of catching

Yes but the cross member now has a winch tray welded to it and that's welded to the chassis legs.

I'm gona plate the front when I get the gear and the time to brace where the reciver hitch is.


Also go my new cables for power and moving my solenoid
