Or the fact that 7% of Irish cars are untaxed and 50 million of lost revenue. No NPR system leaves the system open to abuse. Until recently October 13 you simply presented a form to the Garda to say your car had been off the road and get the form stamped and avoid paying the months / years the vehicle was untaxed. That loophole has been closed off and a similar SORN is in place now
