I know this has been covered before, but I can't find what I need,

can I hot wire the pump to run? I have no fuel in the filter or the clear pipe from filter to FIP was wanting to run the pump to see if it forces fuel through before I flatten the battery cranking

Yep, from the relay, think it's covered in Wammers how to.

ok, so did as I said above and heard nothing, and still no fuel

this mean the pump in tank has given up???

Could be, or supply to the fuel pump. If you have feed at the pump then yes its knackered. You can cut the boot floor for access ,there is a post on here giving details, but I always say its best to drop the tank because you can check/replace the brake pipe that runs behind the tank.

I cut the hole a few months back and regreted it about a month later cos I dident check the break pipes and they bust!!!
I have a thread on it.. anyway the mecanic cocked up and my eas started playing up(still is,cant find the problem)
He clames he never touched it so im fixing myself im already over £150 in and havent found the problem.
just a warning if id droped the tank I would have seen the questionable pipes before any problems

I changed the two flexi hoses as well, easy job while the tank's out :)

I'm not really up for taking the tank out, I think I'll be cutting the hole in the boot floor, I currently have around 60+ litres of fuel in the tank and don't fancy trying to lift that!!

If you supply + 12 volts to pin 5 relay 12 and there is no fuel flow the pump is fubarred.

OK, when I run the pump using this method, will the pump run continuous or just 10 seconds? will need to have another go later with someone that can hear! just to make sure it's deffo the pump

Depends how long you have the wire in place. This is done for ten seconds to check fuel flow. But if you leave it on it stays on. :):)

ok so I'm admitting to myself now it's the in tank pump, just before this went I did notice the tank gauge reading wrong? I know I put in 80 litres at home and brimmed with dino diesel at the pump until it clicked but the dash still only said 80% full??

So, now I’ve admitted to myself that I need to change the pump, what’s the best make? Or is it just whoever can deliver the cheapest the fastest on eBay??
