Seem to have picked up a whistle.

Don't hear it on acceleration or stand still revving, but on lift off.

Any ideas?

Aux belt off, turn idlers individually while listening, changed my RH noisy idler today and peace again
Sure it could be something else.

Forget what i said, found out its a derv and they have millions of problems so you're temporarily lost...vink

As Druim said, check the belt idler pulley's.

Did you recently disconnect the vac pipe from the EGR valve? stick a bolt in to block it off see if your whistle goes.

OK, so the whistle is getting louder and more persistent. As stated seems not to be present on acceleration but on life off and low cruising very present and loud.

Tried brakes, didn't shut it up.
When I am standing still and rev the engine, nothing!

Wheel bearing?
