Update on Restoration

So when I purchased her (2001 DHSE), she had a hole in the diesel tank and radiator to start. Off to Ebay.

She then ran, but on 15 MPG, average. So full oil service with filters.

Ran a little better. Lo and Hi Range engaged and worked.

ABS light would not go out, turned out to be WABCO D unit, off to Ebay. These are rare and expensive.

EAS working good.

Needed loads of replacement bulbs, off to Ebay.

Upgraded wheels from 16 to 18 inch rims, off to Ebay.

New tyres.

New tailgate release button.

MPG still awful, MAP lead hanging off, so replaced. MAF had packed up, so off to Ebay. EGR solenoid packed up, off to Ebay.

Chipped management ECU, yes, from a guy on Ebay.

Removed cold start box, always starts.

Found a guy on Ebay who fixed the Satnav player in the boot,.

Upgraded most of plastic interior from Ebay to Wood. Plastic was sticky and majorly scratched.

New Repeaters from Ebay.

Bypassed EGR, runs through auto box smoothly.

New condenser(ebay) and a regas.

New intercooler and new reinforced Turbo pipes (Ebay).

Replaced HEVAC unit and blend motors. (Ebay)

Replaced all the wiper blades including headlamps blades (Ebay)

New heavy duty Battery.

A bucket load of leather cleaning products (Ebay)

Window tints.

Turbo grille (Ebay)

Tailgate repainted and new DHSE decal

Rear arches painted.

Heated seats repaired.

Purchased Hawkeye, very useful.

So the MPG now, average about 22 on runabout but hit 32 on motorway trip to Folkestone Yesterday.

All bells and whistles working finally.

Further work, I suspect exhaust leaking from manifold /downpipe and of course the mirror tilt on passenger side (everyone knows how to switch this on and off, but have not seen a detailed description of diagnosis for this yet).

She had been abused something rotten alright! Happy to have saved her from the scrapheap. And of course I love driving her.

I forgot to say, what I need is someone now in Kent to look at the setup of the engine, although I have bolted a lot of new components on, would be nice to know that they are all working and singing in harmony calibration wise!

You need someone with a Nanocom, sure there are a few around that area who would be willing to hook it up, only takes a few minutes to read everything.

Are you talking about the tilting using the controls or the automatic mirror dip when you put it in reverse? The latter seems to be a common issue that I too want to fix!

Sounds similar to me with the Fedex man from ordering lots from Island 4x4.

Hello, yes. The passenger mirror used to tilt but not return. Now does nothing. Drivers still tilts and returns. I have done the reset procedure several times. Lots of people have this fault on the passenger side, but not one has said definitively what it is. Lots of guesses. Must be a common cause.

Hello Barsman,

The guy is called "navman", he serviced my DVD and added a 2013 Map disk.

Just plugged it in and away she went. He later sent me a new GPS aerial when mine failed (for free)!!
