Are you bloody kidding me?

I used to have a 5 litre petrol M5 and it was only £280 with double the emissions. Why oh why is the tax so heavy on the Discovery? Its diesel and the engine size isn't that big?

An M5 over here is over 500 euro for just three months, 1800 for a years tax!

A '07 disco 3 taxed privately would be about the same especially a petrol one. Taxed commercially with only two seats, it would be 330 a year!

It's because they're 4x4s. My old 5 litre Trans Am which incidentally did about 14 mpg was less tax than a 4x4 because it was just classed as a car with a 2 litre engine or higher. Seems it's got bugger all to do with polluting the planet!

We dont have road tax in Poland, it is taken from the fuel price so the bigger the car or the more Kms you cover the more you pay, very reasonable idea I say.

my 90 is currently tax free but looks like it is going up in january and will be much more than the p38

your fuel is cheaper than mine and the cost here, effectively, is much higher as the average wage in the Netherlands is much higher than the average wage here in Poland.

how much is your fuel? you diesel is probably cheaper but i will be surprised if the petrol is
